SU President meets the director of the Documents Collection Management of the National Library and Archives (NAE) (Dar Al-Watha

In his office, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, met this morning with Mr. Alaa Amer Ali, the general director of the Documents Collection Management of the National Library and Archives (NAE) (Dar Al-Watha'iq Al-Qawmeia) in Cairo. It was attended by Dr. Mohamed Ali Shusha, the SU General Secretary. This is on the sidelines of the University's training for the secretaries of faculties, general directors, and administrations of the University.  

Furthermore, the SU President welcomed the guest and looked forward to further cooperation and communication between the University and the Library for its important role. As well, Hnijal appreciated the role of the General Administration for the Collection and Preservation of Documents at the National Library and Archives (NAE), which oversees the collection of papers, records, and notes from all over the Republic. It is an article of our national history and is competent to screen, classify, and record documents.

This visit comes within the framework of cooperation between Suez University and the National Library and Archives in Cairo. It was conducted under the chairmanship of Dr. Asma Talat, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Books and National Documents, and Dr. Rashida Rabee, the Head of the National Library and Archives (NAE) (Dar Al-Watha'iq Al-Qawmeia) in Cairo. The first meetings of the Standing Committee on Archives of Suez University were held with the general managers and the secretaries of the faculties. During the meeting, the representative of the National Library and Archives (NAE) reviewed:

- The role of the Cairo National Library and Archives as Egypt's national archive.

- The role of the Standing Committee on Archives in the preservation of the University's documents. The Committee should be the link between the University and the National Library and Archives.

- The role of the Supreme Council of the Library and Archives (Supreme Committee) in deciding and determining the importance of Egypt's documents and issuing decisions to them by annexation or dispensation.

- Application of the government archives list to all documents and archives whose legal preservation has expired.

It was agreed that the Committee would be convened monthly and at a minimum of four times a year to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
