• The Minister of Higher Education announces: The inclusion of 50 Egyptian universities in the " Webometrics " ranking for reference citations for 2024 • SU President: Entering the university in this ranking is a positive step forward

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the emergence of the results of the Spanish classification " Webometrics " for reference citations in January 2024 on the Ministry's official page. He noted that Egyptian universities have made remarkable progress in the classification results that relies on universities' websites, and the rate of citations of scientific research published internationally, by relying on Google Scholar to cite global research.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, explained that entering the university in this category is a positive step forward. In the past few months, the University has made progress in international ranking. According to the Scimago rank, the University's ranking has advanced from 6,278 in 2022 to 5,239 in 2023 to date. In addition to entering the University in the British Times Rankings for Global Rankings Arab Universities, and recently entered the Arab Universities ranking to be ranked 37th among the Arab universities.

Moreover, the SU President noted that this positive step comes through the support and encouragement of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who does not hesitate to push the various institutions of higher education and scientific research in Egypt towards progress and competition at the international level.

Hnijal assured that the confidence of His Excellency President Abdelfattah El-Sisi in the potential and capabilities of all members of the academic community places a great responsibility on us to continue working diligently to compete vigorously and reach the best levels at the international level.
