Minister of Higher Education inspects the construction and executive works of the SU branch at Abordis, in South Sinai Completion of construction works for the first phase that cost 1 billion 110 million pounds

On Monday morning, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ayman Ashour, inspected the construction and operational work of the SU branch at Abordis in the South Sinai governorate. He was accompanied by Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, SU President, and several leaders of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority as well as several leaderships from the Ministry, Governorate, and University.

Moreover, the inspection tour included an inspection of the faculties' buildings, which included terraces, training classes, laboratories, training workshops, and administrative offices, which had 100% construction implementation rates.

During his tour, Dr. Ayman Ashour listened to a detailed explanation of the components of the University's buildings and saw the implementation rates of the ongoing construction of all buildings.

Furthermore, the Minister commended the commitment to the timetable for the implementation of the university's facilities, buildings, and facilities according to the previously agreed specifications, which are in line with the latest global systems, to provide an outstanding learning experience for students.

Meanwhile, the Minister confirmed that the Suez University branch of Abordis aims to serve the governorate of South Sinai, stating that 100 acres were allocated in Abordis from South Sinai governorate to establish the branch of the university, as part of the Egyptian state's efforts to develop the Sinai Peninsula region.

For his part, Dr. Ashraf Hnijal explained that the university branch will include 17 faculties and an integrated medical complex, noting that construction work is being completed for the first phase of faculties, which include Faculties of (Science - Commerce - Arts - Education), noting that the building of each faculty consists of a ground floor and four upper floors on an area of 5000 m flat for the Faculty of Science, and 3500 m flat for each of the Faculties of (Commerce, Arts and Education), at a total cost of over 1 billion pounds and 110 million pounds for the first phase.

The SU President also explained that the second phase of the university branch in South Sinai will include (the Faculty of Engineering, lecture halls buildings, university dormitories, university administration, conference hall, and a library), while the third phase includes (scientific faculties, medical sector faculties, medical complex), and the fourth phase includes (sports city buildings, Olympic sports complex including stadiums, covered lounge, half Olympic swimming pool) to serve the people of South Sinai governorate.

Then, Dr. Adel Abdul Ghaffar, Media Adviser and Spokesperson of the Ministry, stated that the establishment of the SU branch in South Sinai is a nucleus for the establishment of South Sinai University, because of the political leadership's keenness to achieve comprehensive development in various regions and provide university education in South Sinai Governorate.

After that, the spokesperson added that the establishment of this branch is one of the most important benefits of national and development projects that contribute to the achievement of comprehensive development in South Sinai Governorate and provides the community with specialized scientific personnel and expertise capable of implementing the Egyptian State's plans to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development of this vital geographical region.

Hence, the visit was attended by Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Maher Misbah, Secretary of the Council of Private Universities, Major General Haitham Zaki, Assistant Minister for National Projects, and Dr. Ashraf Hussein, President of King Salman International University.
