Under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashor, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, SU President, and Dr. Moawad Al-Khouli, President of the New Mansoura University, to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities to improve the quality of educational performance, which has a positive impact on the development of the higher education system.

The memorandum of understanding was signed within the framework of the implementation of the directives of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on the importance of implementing the themes of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which include important themes such as (integration, communication, and effective participation) to provide a catalytic climate for the localization and production of knowledge, link the outputs of knowledge and innovation to the priorities of the State, and qualifying graduates to be able to meet the needs of the local, regional, and international labor market, in line with the achievement of the sustainable development goals "Egypt Vision 2030".

Moreover, Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, SU President, stressed that the memorandum of understanding works to achieve several objectives, including the provision of consultations and cooperation concerning the development of curricula and study plans, the development of teaching staff capabilities, and the evaluation of the quality and development of programs as well as encouraging the exchange of faculty staff members in teaching, scientific research and higher studies, and joint-supervision.

Furthermore, for his part, Dr. Moawad Al-Khouli explained that this memorandum will provide an opportunity for the two universities to organize conferences, seminars, and workshops as well as the possibility of providing consultations and cooperation on standards and oversight of continuous professional development besides the implementation and development of research projects to be agreed upon and information exchanged about it. In addition to exchanging study materials, published research, and other information within the limits of applicable regulations and rules.

Meanwhile, the signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Sharif Fahmi, Acting SU Vice-President for Postgraduate and Research Affairs, and Dr. Yasser Amon, Dean of the SU Faculty of Computers and Information.
