SU President honors several researchers in Science Day celebration at Suez University "Hnijal." The Egyptian President emphasizes his confidence in the minds of Egypt

This morning, Suez University organized a Science Day celebration under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, SU President, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fahmy, Acting SU Vice-President for Postgraduate and Research Affairs. The celebration started with the national anthem and then the SU President delivered a speech welcoming the attendance and expressing his pleasure to be with them today, which is a simple gesture from the University in which we reaffirm our appreciation for the efforts of the University's scientists, which inevitably reflects positively on our distinguished University.

Moreover, the SU President noted that we live in an age of scientific and technological challenges. It is an era of global participation, in which access to foreign markets can be achieved only through creativity, high-quality education, and high-quality training. The scientific race is one of the hallmarks of today's world, which depends today on People's production of culture, science, and technology, as well as the related giant economic growth.

Furthermore, the Egyptian President, Abdelfattah El-Sisi, stressed on more than one occasion that Egypt trusts its people's minds and awaits new creative ideas that enable the state to find solutions outside the box to various problems and issues.

The SU President also spoke about Egypt's Vision 2030, which seeks to make Egyptian society creative, innovative, and a producer of science, technology, and knowledge by 2030. He then Referred to the Ministry of Higher Education plan led by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who launched an ambitious strategy for higher education and scientific research based on seven themes: integration, interdisciplinary disciplines, communication, effective participation, sustainability, international reference, entrepreneurship, and innovation, stressing that Suez University was one of the first universities to achieve these ambitious goals.

Thus, the SU President called on all members of the University to continue strongly in the course of scientific research, not only for its great role in raising the classification of the University, but also because it is one of the most important means to confront and solve the various problems facing the Egyptian State, and one of the most important objectives of Egypt's ambitious plan for sustainable development Egypt 2030.

Hence, Hnijal stressed that the University provides all means and possibilities to encourage the University's staff to increase and develop their research. In the future, several encouragement awards will be added to the University's staff, such as:

To encourage all researchers of the University to continue to work with the utmost seriousness and sincerity to raise the Suez University flag in various academic forums. You have undoubtedly contributed to this before, and we look forward to more of this in the future.

This was followed by a screening of a documentary entitled "Our University" which reviews the potential of idleness in terms of scientific research and the achievements of its employees in this field.

Then, Prof. Dr. Yasser Amon, Director of the University's International Publishing Unit, delivered a speech on the services provided by the Unit and reviewed the significant development in the preparation of the participation of faculty staff and researchers at the University.

After that, Prof. Dr. Sherif Fahmy, Acting SU Vice-President for Postgraduate and Research Affairs, gave a presentation entitled Panorama of Scientific Research and Design at the Suez University through which he reviewed the University classified in the ESCOBS database and various international classifications. He also presented research activities in the various faculties of the University as well as published research and development in its preparation. Fahmy clarified that most classifications are based on ESCOBS and Clarifet databases.

So, he addressed the most prolific faculties and disciplines in terms of international publishing, as most of the Suez University's research is published in international journals considered classified as Quarters I and II.

The SU President then honored the staff members who got the state awards. He also honored the university scholars in Stanford University's report for a list of 2% of the most distinguished.

The ceremony concluded with Prof. Dr. Hnijal giving University Shield to Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the former president of the University in recognition of his sovereignty over his effort and giving over the previous period.
