“Hnijal” gives a speech at the opening of the AU-IBAR Fish Farming and Fisheries Commission Workshop SU President invites attendees to participate in the Second Blue Economy Conference at Suez University early next summer

This morning, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, participated in the events of the AU-IBAR Fish Farming and Fisheries Commission Workshop.

It will be held in Cairo from 27 to 30 December, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Osama Kaddour, the Dean of the SU Faculty of Fish Resources, and a member of the African Platform for Fish Farming and Fisheries Rehabilitation.

The "SU President" addressed the opening session, at which he noted the importance of African States preserving their resources and working for their development through the pursuit of cooperation among the continent's States to promote the sustainable development of the blue economy, including multiple resources from fish, mining, energy generation, logistics, and maritime transport.

Moreover, Hnijal noted the continued emphasis of His Excellency President Abdelfattah El-Sisi on the importance of building bridges of cooperation with siblings on the African continent, as well as the continuous support of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to advance the scientific research system and encourage his continued sovereignty to cooperate with various bodies and institutions.

In his speech, the SU President announced the intention of the University of Suez to organize its second International Conference on Blue Economy in the coming summer of 2024. He also invited the members of the Commission and the States participating in the workshop to participate in the events of the Conference by submitting scientific and applied research and working papers.

It is worth mentioning that this workshop is being held to discuss the strategies of the blue economy in North African countries. Suez University participates in its capacity as one of the eight centers of excellence of the African Union on the continent.
