In the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Jomaa, the Al-Awqaf Minister, General Staff of War/ Abdelmadjid Saqr, the Suez Governor, Prof. Dr. Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawki Allam, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, performed Al-Jum`ah prayer at Badr Mosque in Port Tawfik. This was conducted on the occasion of the National Day of the Governorate, which coincides with the anniversary of the response of the Suez residents and armed forces to Israel's attack on them on 24 October 1973. This was attended by Dr. Abdullah Ramadan, the Deputy Governor of Suez, and a number of popular and executive leaders in the governorate.

Furthermore, the Jum`ah sermon was delivered by Dr. Hisham Abdulaziz. In his sermon, he addressed the grace of the homelands, stressing that it is one of the greatest blessings in human life, where he remains in his homeland and feels reassured among his parents. Moreover, he explained that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) emphasizes the value of defending the homelands. Hisham referred to jurisprudential rule whoever is killed in defense of his homeland is a martyr. He stressed that the defense of the homelands was a legitimate necessity and duty and demonstrated nobility and interest.

The Khatib of the mosque then emphasized the need to unite ranks behind Egypt's wise and conscious leadership and to offer the public interest over personal interests to sustain the homelands. At the end of the sermon, Abdul Aziz greeted the Palestine brothers in their steadfastness and defense of their land, praying for their fortitude and victory with Allah's permission.
