the Fourth Scientific Student Conference

Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU president, opened the Fourth Scientific Student Conference of the SU Faculty of Science in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of the republic, who emphasizes that innovation is no longer an option but a necessity and a way of life. 

This came with the participation of students from various practical faculties of Suez University, students from universities (Cairo, Suez Canal, Al-Azhar, South Valley), as well as researchers from (the National Research Centre, Agricultural Research Centre, Nuclear Resources Authority), the SU Center for the support of Innovators and Talents, and students from STEM schools in Suez. The conference's events began with a minute of mourning for the lives of the nation's martyrs. 

The conference was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the minister of higher education and scientific research. In keeping with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to encourage scientific research to develop research skills, innovation, and scientific creativity among university students and young researchers, to contribute to the achievement of Egypt's Vision 2030. 

Furthermore, the SU president explained that this conference aims to enhance the capacities of our students and youth researchers from postgraduate students and highlight their excellence in the presentation of their scientific production. 

As well, he noted that this contributed to the establishment of the University of the Center for the support of Innovators and Talented, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of the Republic, who stressed that innovation is no longer an option but a necessity and lifestyle. 

In addition, Dr. Al-Sharkawi explained that the efforts of Suez University are aimed at providing a suitable environment for the support of talented and innovators, including marketing the creations of talented people, establishing a talents database at the level of Suez, supporting the STEM schools students and other efforts to support creativity and innovation. He also appreciates the efforts of Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, the Minister of Higher Education and scientific research who made a breakthrough in Egypt's higher education and scientific research system. 

For his part, Dr. Sharif, the SU dean of the Faculty of Science, noted the importance of this event. 

On the sidelines of the conference, attendees toured participant projects and research that included projects on (IoT Internet of Things, 3D printing, artificial intelligence in the management of government facilities and universities, climate change, innovative ways in green hydrogen manufacturing, mine detection applications, and virus prevention). In addition to the innovations of the university students and the students of the STEM schools in petrochemical production, as well as viewing a presentation by the Egyptian team R. E. Marine affiliated with IEEE Suez University Student Branch and winner of the first place in the Sea prach North Africa Competition of 2022, which was part of the c Robotics (Water Submarines) Tournament.
