Professional Experience:

  • Expert in the semi-intensive production of Nile tilapia, common carp, silver carp, African catfish, stripped mullet, thin-lipped mullet, seabream, and keeled mullet. 25 years' experience in designing earthen ponds, determining  appropriate stocking density, fertilization of fish ponds, feeding, weekly sampling, analysis of weight gain, average daily growth, survival rate, harvesting, and marketing.
  • Hands on the commercial artificial spawning of Nile tilapia, Common carp, Silver carp, Grass carp, Bighead carp, African catfish, koi carp, and Gold fish. Mastering of designing and constructing of spawning units, incubators, and larva rearing units, selecting & preparing of brood stock, determining of sex ratio and densities, fry feeding and rearing, Nile tilapia hormonal sex reverse, overwintering, and marketing of different fish seeds.
  • Special experience in the Tilapia intensive culture (20:30 kg /m3). All duties of designing, constructing and operating of three civil intensive fish farms (raceways and circular concrete tanks within a flow-through systems supplied with different aeration devices).
  • Designing and operating large Aquaculture closed systems (RAS). Mastering of basic constructions, plumbing (PVC), process machines, lighting, pumps, different aeration systems, intensive systems monitoring, and evaluation of closed systems efficiency
  • Preparing (2016/2017) a full design and supervise the construction of the closed system experimental fish farm (RAS) that belongs to Suez University, Suez, Egypt.
  • Preparing (2016/2017) a full design and supervise the construction of the fish hatchery that belongs to Suez University, Suez, Egypt.
  • Consultant (2017) for Misr Elkheir organization concerning the initiative “Developing Aquaculture and Aquaponics Projects in Some Upper Egypt Governments”.
  • Consultant (2017/2018) for the project entitled “Development of a Market Information Platform for Farmed Fish in Egypt” cooperation between the WroldFish center and the Knowledge Economy Foundation.   
  • Consultant (2018/2019) for the Egyptian Germaine cooperation authority (G I Z) project entitled “Egyptian – Germaine program for preparing water management”.   
  • Member of the evaluation committee in Marine fishes component that belongs to SASME project funded with the French government.    
  • Member of the evaluation committee in MADE 2 (Mari-culture Development in Egypt (MADE 2) project that belongs to the Italian government.
  • Executive manager 2019: till now of the semi commercial aquaponics unit that belongs to the Suez University.
  • Executive manager 2019: till now of the intensive fish production unit that belongs to the Suez University (RAS/ Fish hatchery/ Race way).

 

Research Experience:

  • Expert on the mathematics that related to Aquaculture, e.g., calculating of the requested flow rate, determining the appropriate water transport system, feeding rate, Ammonia production rate, Oxygen demand rate, cage floatation and buoyancy, determining the suitable aeration devices, designing fish farms, designing fish hatcheries, and all the calculations related to designing and operating of closed systems.
  • Knowledgeable in the analysis and critical limits of the basic water parameters that related to the Aquaculture environment, e.g., salinity, alkalinity, PH, dissolved oxygen, Hardness, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and Hydrogen Sulphide.
  • Hands on the statistical analysis of Aquaculture experiments data with a special experience on designing, operating and data analyzing of the genetic improvement experiments, e.g., selection and crossing.
  • Member (2015- Till now) of the research project entitled “Establishment and settlement of technological sitter to service advanced industrials into the regional center in Suez University, the Academy of Scientific Research and technology “Suez, red sea, and Sinai province”.
  • Member (2016- Till now) of the research project entitled “Development a hummer mill for rice straw to utilize as raw material in some industrial products
  • Member (2017- till now) of the editorial board of the International Journal of Oceanography and aquaculture (IJOA).
  • Member (2017- till now) of the editorial board of the Progress in Aqua farming and Marine Biology (BAFMB)
  • Reviewer (2018- till now) for the Indian journal of fisheries (IJF)
  • 2019: Till now, head of the research team of the research project entitled “Development of earthen systems for intensive shrimp production “bio-floc technology as an example” The scientific Research and Technology Academy, ministry of high education and scientific research.
  •  2021 till now Co. PI of the research project entitled “Hatching and  artificial production of the threatened Sea cucumber species in Egypt. The scientific Research and Technology Academy, ministry of high education and scientific research.

University Activities:

  • 2011-2012: member the committee of preparing the following proposals to Suez Governorate:   

1- Utilization of El-kour zone on the Aquaculture (special respect to sea enclosures- fish cages).

2- Opportunities of the Aquaculture investments on the Suez governorate.

3- Marine training center.

4- Usage of the American drainage project facilities on Aquaculture.

  • 2011 – 2013: Member of the board of trustees, Faculty of Fish Resources, Suez University.
