At the Faculty of Fish Resources
Discussion of Graduation Project 2 and Field Training 2 for fourth-year students majoring in Marine Fisheries Engineering
Under the supervision and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Osama Qaddour, Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Engineering Sciences Department,
Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ragab, Coordinator of the Marine Fisheries Technology Program and Lecturer in the Engineering Sciences Department,
Teaching Assistant/ Shams Salah and Teaching Assistant/ Ali Munir, Teaching Assistant in the Department.
Fourth-year students majoring in marine fisheries engineering discussed the presentation and report submitted for graduation project 2, entitled:
“Application of Predictive Maintenance for Fishing Vessels”
The students presented how they designed and implemented a predictive maintenance application for fishing vessels, utilising technologies for fault tracking, maintenance scheduling, spare parts management, and user alerts to prevent faults from occurring, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs and unexpected breakdowns. They discussed the materials and methods used in the project and the results, with guidance on adjusting from Prof. Dr. Osama Qaddour, Head of Department and Dean of the Faculty, who praised the students' efforts and perseverance in developing this program.
This was followed by a discussion of the students' presentation and report on the field training course, which introduced them to the ports of the Red Sea and their importance, a visit to Port Tawfik, inspection of engine rooms, and familiarization with navigational equipment and cooling systems. The training also included practical lectures on solar energy in fishing vessels, as well as an introduction to engineering design programs and their applications in the design of fishing vessels, underwater welding and its applications, cooling systems and their applications on fishing vessels, and personal interview skills.
At the end, commemorative photos were taken with Prof. Dr. Osama Qaddour, Dean of the Faculty, and the teaching staff members and teaching assistants of the department.
