Materials Science and Water Treatment
Mon. 29 Apr, 2024

Under the auspicious of Prof. Dr. Osama Khalil Qaddour, the Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mohamed Saeed, the Vice Dean for Post Graduate Studies and Research, and in continuation of the series of scientific discussion seminars coordinated by Dr. Reham Hamdy Hegazy, Seminar Coordinator at the Faculty.
On Monday, 29 April, 2024, Dr. Hala Fakhry delivered a lecture entitled:
Materials Science and Water Treatment
Dr. Fakhry clarified that with each passing day, the need for clean drinking water is growing and the need for sustainable treatment methods for this water is also increasing.
The characteristics of polluted water are divided into three groups:
1.Physical
2.Chemical
3.Biological
Studying these characteristics is important
for determining how to treat the water from these pollutants.
Materials Science is considered one of the innovative and modern solutions used in the field of water treatment through the use of advanced, synthesized materials that possess unique properties, such as a large surface area, which makes them ideal for treating polluted water.
