The University has been and will continue to be the center of society’s urban progress in all aspects of cultural, social, political, and economic life. So, the university is no longer only limited to education or teaching, but now it has three functions: (teaching, scientific research, and community service). The first and second functions were associated with the establishment of the university from the earliest times and the third function was used as part of the structure of the society and the university function is oriented. Although the University's function is three-dimensional, the third function (community service) is the major function of the university.

furthermore, the university is keen to contribute actively to solving societal problems through many activities and events that work on the promotion and development of society on the one hand, as well as the participation of students in the community interaction and the spirit of cooperation in them to be more effective in interaction and cooperation with the internal and external community of the University. The university has therefore intensified its efforts and reconsidered its strategies to conform to the Sustainable Development Plan, the Egypt Vision 2030 Plan, the Ministry of Higher Education Plan as well as effectively involved itself in societal issues such as climate change, adult education “literacy”, and presidential initiatives.

Community Service Affairs Sector is the only window from which the university overlooks the surrounding community to identify the real problems of society and to find scientific solutions thereby developing society to be able to keep pace with the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030 and to believe in the role of the university as a social institution serving and affecting society community. Moreover, this link imposes the serious pursuit of community partnership, the localization of knowledge and the taking of the initiative in the development of the surrounding society, and its advancement to the best technical, economic, health, social, and cultural levels.
