Faculty Dean Word

Environmental factors and historical circumstances inevitably play a significant role in shaping a person's thinking and behaviour. Perhaps what distinguishes political science and economics is their close connection to the social development of nations and societies, as well as their connection to the circumstances that these societies have experienced throughout different eras and periods During these periods, political and economic thought contributed to the creation of diverse perceptions and visions, which represented a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in dealing with political and economic phenomena. This wealth of knowledge and practical experience has become available to all societies to choose from, modify, or build upon in accordance with their social, political, and economic circumstances.

Perhaps our need to apply thought and come up with new visions is paralleled by our need for scientific understanding and interpretation. Both derive their importance not only from the fact that we now live in a world governed by conflicting interests, but also from the return of ideologies in their old guise, coupled with destructive tendencies that claim to be fundamentalist and now influence the behaviour of societies more than science does. In view of this, we must take a realistic approach to political and economic issues to better understand the concepts and variables involved. This is where academic institutions and research centres have a role to play.

At the outset, on my own behalf and on behalf of staff members, associated staff, and the SU employees, I would like to extend to all old and new students heartfelt congratulations for the new academic year. I thank the new students for choosing to study at the Faculty of Politics and Economy, through which many scholars and political, economic, and administrative figures graduated in our beloved Egypt. Those figures expanded their horizon and distinguished themselves in the local and global fields. So, the faculty was highlighted, and their names shone until they became like enlightening planets in their field. On joining the faculty, you will feel that the dawn of your career has grown from the moment you studied your curriculum with passion and interest. Throughout your study in the faculty, you will witness our care and that you are in the mind and heart of every member of the faculty. The link and relationship between you and this faculty will continue to be inseparable or fragmented after you graduate, whatever posts or ranks you acquire in the future, practicing your active and constructive positive role in practical life.

In this regard, I would like to inform my dear new students that you have left the secondary phase and become a university student, and there is a clear huge gap and a difference between them. The study you gain here in the university is no longer limited to an effort that depends mostly on memory alone. The criterion of distinguishing is no longer the success of a lucky student, but at that phase, we aim to instill a spirit of research and scrutiny to prepare you for creative, positive work. The means to realize this purpose is to have a look at, manage, discuss, and analyze your curricula and lessons. Therefore, you must continue to pursue your thoughts. As well, science is based on understanding and discussion demonstrates the science based on memorizing and follow-up. This method is fundamental to your scientific skills and the building of your creative personality. You also know that your scientific skills will be completed through your cooperation with your professors, who will spare no effort to streamline the course and clarify it to you by all possible means. It will also be completed through your diligent endeavor to form your information from different scientific resources and references. You should not be restricted to the curricula prepared by your professors and attending lectures. You should be passionate about gaining information from various books found both in the faculty's library and on the internet.

My dear students

The university is a micro-society in which you experience similar life experiences to real life. Study is not limited to academic achievement; it is not just diligence, but it has a very broad set of activities that you can engage in, which will contribute to refining your consciousness, developing your skills, and preparing you for the future. These activities are related in one way or another to your field of studies, such as simulation models that seek to mimic work within national, regional, or international institutions, in which students assume leadership roles, practicing on the ground, which reinforces their understanding and theoretical achievements in your study.

My dear students

The challenges are great, but the hopes are greater and the resolve stronger, and you can realize your hopes and activate your resolve towards success and academic and practical excellence... I hope that your faculty study will be fruitful, successful, and full of happy memories.
