According to the decision of the Supreme Council of Universities dated 9/10/1997, a branch of the Faculty of Commerce at Suez Canal University was established in Suez Governorate, and the college began studying in the academic year 1997/1998 and continued affiliated with Suez Canal University until a republican decision was issued to be independent from the Faculty of Commerce in Ismailia by Resolution No. 267 and became affiliated with the University of Suez upon its independence from Suez Canal University in 2012.
One of the main objectives that the Faculty of Commerce at Suez University seeks to achieve is to improve its academic and research capabilities in the Gulf of Suez, by offering diverse and unique programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and the faculty tries to provide research outputs that add value to the community and the surrounding environment.
The process of implementing these goals began with the implementation of the credit hour system in 2018 in the fields of management, accounting, quantitative methods and computer science, in both Arabic and English divisions, at a globally competitive level. It is a system of courses and credit hours and not a system of years and is based on the principle of giving the student the freedom to choose the subjects he wishes to study to complete the required study hours for graduation with the help of his academic advisor who helps the student in developing the study plan for him within the limits of his capabilities. A range of distinguished programs at the postgraduate level of diploma, master's and doctoral studies, whether academic or applied vocational in their precise fields of specialization, were introduced in the list developed in 2017. The summer study system was opened from one of the distinguished credit hour programs.
The college offered programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels in areas not found in most business schools, such as petroleum facility management, small business management, human resource development, marketing, finance, costing, auditing, management accounting, and actuarial science.
The college has recently established a sustainable development center to play a complementary role in serving the community and preparing, qualifying and changing the career path for targeted community members, whether graduates of the college or others to qualify them for the labor market and in cooperation with relevant academic and professional bodies.
The College of Commerce also tries to provide its academic, research and community service services at a distinguished level, including early registration of master's and doctoral theses, minimizing the period of administrative procedures and the speed of completion of all its services, good treatment and comfort in dealing and accuracy in the delivery of services.
