Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, SU president, met Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Awadi, the vice-president of the National Research Center, and Prof. Dr. Hamdi Al-Ghaytani, the head of the Engineering Research Division to sign a cooperation protocol between the National Research Centre and the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering. As well, it was attended by Prof. Dr. Abeer Mohamed Amar, the dean of the faculty. Furthermore, the SU president stated that the National Research Center is one of the largest interdisciplinary scientific groupings, conducting scientific research and development at the local and regional levels, which contributes to its applied research to drive development in various fields. For her part, Prof. Dr. Abeer Mohamed Amar, the dean of the faculty, said that this protocol would enable the parties to transfer technology activities between the University and the Centre on the one hand and industry on the other. The possibility of joint scientific supervision of master's and Ph.D. theses as well as greater opportunities for conferences, workshops, symposiums, and seminars.
