1 Research Interests

My research is focused on the integrated study between petrophysics, well logging, mud logging, and petrography for reservoir characterization. It spans three main areas, as briefly described below.

  • Petrophysics: This involves reservoir characterization from conventional and special core data for instance; Porosity, Permeability, Grain density, Water saturation, ….etc.
  • Well logging: This involves reservoir characterization from well logging data (Las files) for instance; Gamma-ray, Neutron, Density, Resistivity, Litho-density, Sonic, ….etc by using different software.
  • Sedimentology and depositional systems: This involves sedimentological core description, Petrographical studies, and inferring different depositional environments.

The project deals with the study of the causes of the rise in the groundwater level in the Suez Governorate and the consequent increase in soil salinity, which causes damage to the infrastructure as well as the agricultural production of the Suez Governorate. Which affects the sustainable development and the capabilities of Suez Governorate to withstand the potential climate changes in the region. The project aims to solve issues and problems in Suez Governorate.
