Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • Dr. Hany Ammar obtained his M.Sc. (2006) and Ph.D. (2010) from Quebec University, Canada, in the area of Advanced Manufacturing & Materials Engineering. His M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies were funded and sponsored by General Motors Corporation (GMC) in United States of America and Aluminium Company of America (ALCOA) in Canada.
  • He has more than 15 years of experience in the area of manufacturing, processing, and characterization of new materials/alloys, nanomaterials, and composite materials for engineering and industrial applications.
  • He published more than 75 papers in high quality indexed international journals.
  • Since 2011, Dr. Ammar has been participated in more than 15 funded research projects (as PI, COPI, and Consultant) funded from different sectors. These research projects grants covered a wide range of R&D in advanced materials engineering such as developing new materials for engineering applications; synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials; production and characterization of nanocomposites; and production and characterization of biodegradable materials.
  • He led the establishment of Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Research Group (AMMRG).
  • Dr. Ammar is the director of the Research & Innovation Unit in the College of Engineering. Through this unit, he led the team to set the Engineering College research priorities and strategic plan for research and innovation. He developed a conducive environment for R&D through activating the concept of research groups in the College of Engineering.
  • Dr. Ammar is the director of the Industrial Engineering Department in the College of Engineering.
  • Dr. Ammar is the Editorial Secretary of Qassim University Journal of Engineering and Computer Sciences.
  • He is a member of the Qassim University Standing Committee for Graduate Studies Plans and Programs.
  • He is the supervisor of the advanced materials and manufacturing Labs in Qassim University.
  • He is an active member in performing the requirements for national (NCAAA) and international (ABET) accreditation of the College of Engineering academic programs.
  • He is leading several R&D projects funded from different sectors.
  • He served as the coordinator of the international Virtual Conferences: “Vision of solar energy in Saudi Arabia: Applications & Challenges.”
  • Dr. Ammar served as the coordinator of the 4th and 5th annual engineering symposium for students at Qassim University.
