Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Professor Ashraf Bakkar received his PhD in Materials and Corrosion Engineering from Clausthal University, Germany in 2005. He continued to conduct scientific research and development in the field of electrochemical corrosion and electrometallurgy at the Materials Testing Institute in Clausthal, Germany (2005-08). He worked as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at Suez University, Egypt (2008-2013). He worked in the Department of Environmental Engineering at the College of Engineering - Umm Al-Qura University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2013-2024) and served as head of the department (2014-2018). Professor Bakkar is currently conducting his research on corrosion, electrostatic deposition, electroreclamation, and recycling of industrial waste, especially dust and ash generated in steel mills, power generation and desalination plants. He has about 50 scientific contributions published as patents, scientific papers and conference articles.
