The Second Student Conference of the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering
Sun. 12 May, 2024

Under the patronage of Prof. Ashraf Hanigal - President of Suez University, and the supervision of Prof. Essam Ahmed Ali - Dean of the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering and Conference Chairman, Conference Coordinator Dr. Rehab Al-Maghribi, and the student chapters (AIChE - SPE - ESME - MA - IADC - SME) participate in the organization in cooperation with the Student Union at the Faculty and the Students for Egypt Family; The Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering in Suez announces the second student conference, which will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, on the campus of Suez University.

The Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering in Suez invites all undergraduate and graduate students at the level of Egyptian universities and higher education institutions to participate in the activities of this conference, which is concerned with discussing a number of topics related to the field of oil, gas, mining and entrepreneurship in Egypt, through a number of discussion sessions that will be presented by experts in the field. This conference is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to exchange experiences and share their interests through this day.

The conference also adopts student innovations in the fields of petroleum, mining, climate and environment, where many activities will be organized in addition to discussion sessions;

Poster Competition:

Bachelor's and graduate students compete to present their ideas and research on the latest topics in the fields of petroleum and drilling, refining and petrochemicals, metals and materials, mining and geology, robotics, artificial intelligence, and other related fields.

With special attention and support for topics of increasing energy efficiency and machine learning and data analysis.

Iodine Clock Competition:
Students compete to control a chemical reaction that ends after a specific period by changing color, and this is done by controlling the concentration of different reactants, and at the time of the competition a specific period is set, and all participants must adjust their reaction concentrations so that the reaction ends at this specified period, and the first place is awarded to the one who is closest to the specified time.

Petroleum Engineering Exhibition:

Through which students display three-dimensional innovations aimed at explaining the various equipment and processes related to the field of petroleum engineering.

Metallurgical Engineering Exhibition:
Students display three-dimensional innovations that aim to explain the various equipment and processes related to the field of metallurgical engineering.

Petrochemical Exhibition:
Fourth-year students of the Department of Refining and Petrochemical Engineering display petrochemical products that they prepared themselves in the laboratories.

Innovation Exhibition:
Participants display their innovations in the field of robotics and various innovations.

It is worth noting that the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at Suez University is the first college specialized in the field of petroleum and mining in the Middle East, as it was established in 1961. It received support from UNESCO from 1966 to 1975. The Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering includes five departments specialized in the field: Department of Petroleum Engineering, Department of Refining and Petrochemical Engineering, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Department of Mining Engineering, Department of Geological and Geophysical Engineering. In addition to special programs; "Petroleum Exploration and Production Engineering" program and "Petroleum and Gas Engineering" program. The college has graduated a large number of people who have become prominent leaders and experts in the field of petroleum, energy and mining in Egypt and abroad.
