PATHOLOGY EXPERIENCE

I received my undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (Mscs, PHD Pathology) medical training at Faculty of Medicine (Kasr Al-Ainy), cairo university,  one of the premiere medical Institutes of Egypt. I had attended the whole course of pathology training including the gross pathology, cytopathology, immunohistochemistry

I had my residency in pathology at Nasser Institute for research and treatment between 2008 and2014. I underwent intensive training in major sub-specialties of the subject including histopathology, cytopathology, neuropathology and   immunohistochemistry. On an average, the pathology department received 6000 to 8000 requests/year for   histopathology and cytology and being a tertiary level institute there was exposure to all kinds of common and rare entities specially the neuropathology. Then I completed my residency and worked on full time basis as a cosultant at Shubra General Hospital which is a primary level hospital where the exposure is mainly for gynaecologic biopsy, cytopathology  and general common entities.

I joined Children Cancer Hospital (57357), worked first as a resident ,specialist registrar and thenas a  senior registrar on a part time contarct basis, between 2012 and 2016. During this time I was also involved in the reporting the pediatric neoplastic biopsies. The hospital provides tertiary level care services for patients from whole Egypt. The yearly turn over for histopathology  approximately 5000 cases/year.

I rejoined Nasser Institute For Research and Treatment as a senior registrar since August 2016 till January 2020 on part time contract basis and involved in reporting of sugical pathology and cytopathology cases.

I worked at Shifaa Al Orman cancer hospital as a consultant of pathology for 4 months starting from December 2020 till April 2021 as. There I was involved in the diagnosis of histopathology, cytopathology and immunohistochemistry cases.

I was working as a postdoctorate student at The Biomedical Research Center , University Of Louisville, Kentucky, USA since 31/12/2018. I have been trained for cellular reprogramming to induce cardiomyocyte proliferation after myocardial infarction through in vitro induction of the cell cycle factors. Through this I had been trained for in vitro cellssplitting, gel electrophoresis, PCR, Western Blot, cloning, immunofluorescence, and Masson trichrome staining. Moreover, I was able to use the citation machine and Keyence digital microscope J image interpretationsystem for analysis and interpretation of the results and imaging.

I had worked  as a surgical pathology consultant in AL Khalyia Labs on part time contract basis since Sep., 2017 till August 2021 where I was responsible for the examination and final diagnosis of histopathology, cytopathology and immunohistochemistry cases which may reach up to 7000 cases/year.

I joined ALFA LABs as a consultant of surgical pathology on Part time contact basis since FEB., 2020 till now. There I am involved in diagnosis of surgical pathology and cytopathology cases diagnosis. The yearly turn over for histopathology  approximately 5000 cases/year.

Now, I am a lecturer of pathology at “the Faculty of Medicine” – Suez University, where I am enrolled in
teaching the pathologic basis of histopathology for the undergraduate medical students.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

During my masters degree training programme, I was studying the prognostic significance of P53 immunohistochemical expression in different grades and types of cardiomyocytes. I was responsible for collection of the human tumor tissue samples, histologic assessment of the tumor type and grade and interpretation of p53 expression and thesis writing.

For my PHD, I was studying the immunohistochemical expression of WT1 protein in different brain astrocytic tumors being involved in the pathogenesis of the astrocytic tumor in a step for the assessment for its role in gene target therapy. My role was to collect the tumor tissue samples and histologic examination and immunohistochemical interpretation of the marker expression under supervision and thesis writing.

As a staff member in the faculty of medicine, I have been enrolled in different research work and supervision.
