Introduction
Given the tremendous advancements in medical education, keeping pace with these developments has become a top priority for the faculty of the Faculty of Medicine at Suez University. Therefore, establishing a Clinical Skills Unit has become an imperative, reflecting the desire to graduate physicians equipped with the skills necessary to work efficiently. This, in turn, positively impacts the quality of healthcare, a key pillar of human development today. Equipping physicians with the necessary tools through rigorous clinical skills training before entering the workforce significantly reduces diagnostic errors, thus eliminating any resulting deficiencies that could negatively affect the overall economics of the healthcare sector. Furthermore, in line with the general focus on community service, this unit will serve as the nucleus of a training center for healthcare professionals in Suez and the surrounding areas.
Vision:
To prepare qualified physicians capable of examining patients, providing appropriate treatment, and administering necessary emergency care for critical cases.
Mission:
To equip students with the clinical skills necessary for practicing medicine in hospitals and primary healthcare centers after graduation.
Strategy:
1- Develop clinical skills training programs for each learning unit, aligned with its educational objectives.
2- Train faculty members based on their specialization and experience.
3- Create an explanatory form outlining the practical steps for each skill.
4- Develop training materials for each skill to guide both instructors and students during application.
5- Provide training tools and models (simulation models).
6- Provide audio-visual materials illustrating all clinical skills.
7- Provide suitable training facilities.
8- Develop a program to evaluate the performance of instructors and trainees.
9- Design a schedule for skills training sessions for each educational stage (academic year).
10- Preparing an administrative and organizational structure for the Clinical Skills Unit for administrative supervision and coordination between the unit’s various activities.
