The SU Faculty of Dentistry celebrates World Oral Health Day

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Al- Sharkawy, SU President, Prof. Dr. Ali Hussien Atta, SU Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Saied Abady, SU Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hany Shalaby, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Hammuda, the Faculty Undersecretary for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Fares, the Faculty Undersecretary for Community Service and Environment Development, and Dr, Randa El-Sherbini, the student activities coordinator, and the attendance of Dr. Nhwand Thabet, Member of the International World Dental Federation FDI, the SU Faculty of Dentistry organized an event to celebrate the World Oral Health Day on 20 of March. The event began with a seminar through which Dr. Hany Shalaby, the Faculty Dean, delivered a speech stressing that the faculty is keen on participating in such campaigns and world day celebrations. He explained that all the upcoming celebrations and events that the faculty plans to hold like the awareness and treatment convoys on the global celebration map will be registered and documented. He highlighted the importance of this day for its international celebration of the benefits of oral health, enhancing global awareness of issues related to oral health, and emphasizing the importance of maintaining oral hygiene for both young and adult people because of its impact on public health beside increasing the awareness of our students. He also thanked all sponsoring companies for their facilities and support for such celebrations

Dr. Nahund Thabet, a Member of the International World Dental Federation FDI, reviewed that Egypt has obtained first place in oral health research, and so far, it is one of the first countries to register its activities and events on the international celebration map will be held through the Faculties of Dentistry in Egypt. She also explained that one of Egypt's faculties of dentistry was awarded second place for the best-documented images and participation in celebrating World Oral Health Day. She also mentioned the importance of caring for and maintaining oral and dental health

Thereafter, a collection of T-shirts commemorative for today's celebration, toothpaste, and souvenirs was distributed to attendees. A free disclosure was made to the individuals participating in the celebration
